Report: Houston funeral to be at Newark arena

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper

Whitney Houston's body was flown to her home state of New Jersey for a funeral,?according to NBC New York.

Los Angeles ?????assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said in a press conference Monday that the security hold placed on information about the high-profile case did not prevent the singer's body from being released to her family.

Houston's family is?considering holding a wake Thursday and?will hold a?funeral Friday at Newark's Prudential Center, home of such teams as the New Jersey Devils and temporarily of the New Jersey Nets,?NBC New York?reports. The arena seats close to 20,000 for concerts.

??The Grammy-winning singer, 48, was found unconscious underwater in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hills Hilton on Saturday. She was staying at the hotel before a pre-Grammys party. The cause of her death has not been determined. Winter says no announcement will be made until toxicology tests are finished, which could take more than a month.

She was remembered in tributes at Sunday's Grammy awards.
